Hello Matt, how are you? First of all, thanks for the opportunity of this interview! Please, tell us about how you got interested about music and who were your first influences. Hi Rafael, the honor is all of mine! I've always been a great lover of music since childhood and the instrument of the guitar has always fascinated me . It was easy to get close to the guitar after listening to rock bands and artists like Mr.Big, Bryan Adams, Giant, Dann Huff, Satriani, Kotzen, etc ... Now my musical influences have been expanded and evolved to 360° and the guitar in my music assumed a role very different but is always a fixed point for my compositions. Your latest album called “All the little things” shows us a very technical and hard rock oriented Guitar Player. Where does it come from? “All The Little Things” started as a project band. Many months in the rehearsal hall with great musicians and after time this album was born. Very spontaneous and directed with great arrangements. The intent was to have no limits in composing but only express what I felt at that time. Compositions where the guitar was the true replacement for the item with simple structures and I think I succeeded. “All The Little Things” is the album that best represents me as guitarist at the moment. What was the recording process like? Which gear did you used? Was a true experiment sounds, we used all types of amplifiers and guitars. I used ampli Mesa, Fender, Marshall all interconnected. As well I used ibanez guitars and was the first time I also used it in recording Fender and Gibson. It was really creative and very fun to play with the sounds. Since your latest release is from 2008. Are you working on a new material? Is there a new album coming soon? The new album will be totally different from previous ones. Is an album entirely sungand and the guitar will give a different service. A pop-rock project influenced with alternative modern sounds. A very ambitious project but I think it will be a great album or at least I know I will not disappoint you, I hope! What is it like to make a living by playing the guitar in Italy? Is there enough place for this kind of music? The music scene in Italy is the same as in the rest of the world. There is a small slice of the market that represents us and now thanks to the Internet we have our independence from major labels. Is the same story. What is the writing process for your like? Does it take time? Compose music for me is the most natural thing I can do. I don’t have a specific writing process. I can write ten songs in a week how can I sit still for two months. What happens in my life do I transfer music and that is why it is so easy to dial. No limits. What are your plans and projects for the future? I'm still promoting my last album “All The Little Things” because is still going well so I see no reason to put it much effort into oblivion after. Now I'm finishing the recordings of this new album and I’m very satisfied but it will take time to finish it yet, however you are always aware of the process of this album! Please leave a message for the guitar clinic’s readers. Play with your heart ... because this thing will take you away! Thank you Rafael and best of luck to all Guitar Clinic readers! SEE YAAA!
