Matt Cafissi - All the little things
(GC Records)

by Rafael Nery

On this review I've got another album from an italian guitar player, his name is Matt Cafissi and he picked up a Guitar by the age of 18. I've been surprised with all these great talents coming from Italy, after doing some reviews, I really believe Italy is a place full of great players who really deserves much more recognition than what they have now.

The first I noticed on All the little things was the production, the album sounds great in every single aspect. Matt's tone sounds awesome and really like the telecaster feels all over the album, his tone sounds a little like Kotzen's.

"Draw the line" opens the album with a very a hard rock groove and showing a why Matt's here for. The electronical idea on "Chained" is very nice and give us something different if compared to what guitar players are used to do, a different direction to the album.

"Straight to you" is a very melodic and has a very nice harmony which develops along with the melody, it reminds me a little bit of Joe Satriani. There's also an unexpected melody using different intervals, very nice!

The album also has great moments on Inside out and the beautifull last track named Heaven Knows. Worths checking it out!
