Guitar Heroes Tribute - A Tribute to Guitar Heroes Guitar Heroes Tribute was an event at Souza Lima musical conservatory aimed to pay a tribute to the biggest guitar heroes. The event was held at the Souza Lima auditorium at 20:00 o'clock on 5th march. The first guitarist to get on the stage was Maurício Kaeco who played songs of John Petrucci of Dream Theater. Maurício started playing "Regression" followed with "Overture 1928" and 'Stranger Deja Vu" from the Scenes from a Memory with a high technical difficulty. After this Scenes from a memory "Deja Vu", the chords of "Erotomania" from Awake went on. To finish we had a song called "Epilog". Paying a tribute to Steve Morse, on stage we had Denison Fernades, Souza Lima teacher, to play the classics "Stresst fest". This is a extremist piece to play where Morse put all his country influence in very fast licks, and the ballads "Eyes of a child" and "Four minutes to live". Wearing costumes the guitarist Gustavo Malagrino paid a homage to ex- Guns N' Roses guitarist Buckethead. The reason for this name is because this guitarist wears a bucket on his head and a mask. "Welcome to bucketheadland" opened the concert with nice riffs, followed by "Hog bitch stomp" and "Jordan" which brings a nice effect used by Gustavo to interrupt his guitar sound bringing a special element for this song. To finish the musician played the song called "Nottingham lace". Paul Gilbert had his turn being homaged by the guitarrist Rafael Nery who even using a Stratocaster and showing his personality on the songs played "Hurry Up" from the new Paul Gilbert's album called Get out of my backyard and the classic "Technical Difficulties" and "Scarified" this last one claimed a huge technique. Another icon of this tribute was Joe Satriani being played by Tiloy'd Alessio who knew to make people go crazy with lots of classic of this american guitarrist like "Crush of love","Super Colossal","Surfing with the alien",but we had to pay exclusively attention to "The Extremist" being perfectly played even on the hardest parts. It's always a good option to check this kind of event which makes musicians get united for paying a tribute to heroes of any instrument. Now we just have to wait for more editions!!! |
