George Marios - Between Two Worlds by Rafael Nery George Marios is a familiar name to the Guitar Clinic readers since he was our columnist back in the day. I can say , I saw this "kid" growing up, he started as a shred guitar player in his early years in Greece and has become a very nice fusion player throught out the years. He did great accomplishments such as being a live finalist for the Guitar Idol competition and releasing a nice instructional dvd for the Lick Library company. The great idea about this album is that it's based on a story that develops along with the songs, it's like a movie and a soundtrack. When you download the album, there's a nice booklet on .pdf format which you can read while you're listening. The story is about a young man who is between life and death and tries to find the answers lifetime questions. Going back to the music, George owns very nice chops and a very unique phrasing and is also surrounded by great musicians, making it an album not focused one hundred percent on the guitar. The album sounds ethnical on the track "First Look at the sky" fusion on "Sneaking in the attic" , Jazzy on " The Treasure" and "Red hot" , last one with a very nice piano on the introduction part , classical on Last Goodbye and very hard rock'n roll on Hope... Definitely an album which is worth to listen to and read the story to "picture" the movie on your head... Contact: http://www.georgemarios.co.uk/
