Hello everyone at Guitar Clinic Magazine, I am George Marios Tsiaptsiadis, a young guitar player from a small city in Greece. I have been playing for about 2,5 years and I am really happy to write for this magazine as it is made by young musicians who love the guitar and they really put their soul in it. As far as my musical activities are concerned, I have participated in big festivals and various clinics, organized by Nemesis guitar school. This was a great opportunity to jam with tremendous players such as Stef Burns (Alice Cooper, G3) and Gus G (Firewind) and learn about their life and techniques. I also participated in an International Guitar contest with two songs from the "No gravity" album of Kiko. For more information and material from the contest you can check my myspace page www.myspace.com/gmtplayer. I am currently working on my Hard Rock project and instrumental material which will be uploaded on my myspace page. My column in the magazine is about rock/fusion Guitar, a very interesting field in the guitar playing. Each lesson will be separated in two sections, the "essential chords, scales and arpeggios" and the "innovative pentatonics" section. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at gmtplayer@hotmail.com. There are a lot of players who represent this Guitar genre. I would suggest that you listen to Greg Howe, Shawn Lane, Allan Holdsworth and some musicians who are not guitarists but played a very important role in the development of the Fusion genre. Such as: Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea. So that's about it. I want to thank Rafael Nery for letting me write for the magazine, my guitar teachers, my influences and YOU for checking the magazine out. Keep on playing and never stop until you fulfill your dreams. George Marios Tsiaptsiadis (www.myspace.com/gmtplayer) |
