In this lesson, I'll introduce a unique and great individual phrase. Of course they involve things like shred, sweep, tapping, palm mute, and so on. Each time, I'm gonna show you what I'm interested in or what I think is so cool. I'm glad if you use this as inspiration to work hard and let it develop as you feel and take it in your play style. Let's go for it!!
In this first lesson I want to teach about Japanese scale. The reason why I teach it is because I'm Japanese! Japanese modern music, mainly Pops. is always behind the world and chasing it. But the world has got to pay more attention to Japanese culture these days. Do you know SAMURAI? So I think it's better to appeal more to Japanese style , not chasing the world. I'll talk about my most favorite Japanese scale. The scale is ?-??-?-?-?? (B- C-E-F#-A Key=B )
By using this, it becomes important to think how the relation is between B and C triad(C-E-G) F.
It is interesting to use Japanese scale with pentatonic scale which everyone knows. For example ,A Pentatonic scale+F# Japanese Scale.
When you copy these phrases you should not depend on TAB or MUSIC completely. It is a very important thing to feel by your ears.
