Hello Guitar Clinic fellows, how are you guys doing? I hope everything is fine with you! For this month I wrote a little piece for us to keep going with our two hands ideas which now is going to be used with together an open string. What I have been noticing since the years goes by is that the guitarists have never studied the same way a classical musician does, be this a pianist our a violinist. I don't mean the effort, because several guitar players go through "studying all day long" time, what I am saying is that the guitarist has a repertory much differente if compared to the other instrumentists, since several composers let their contribution for this kind of situation. For Example: Bella Bártok in his method named Mikrokosmos. Due to this reason I decided to compose an exercise which sounds like a piece and not as a boring exercises and besides that it is useful to improve your two hands technique. The key is C minor, it has a simple chord progression and it uses the G string as a pedal note what contributed to make this to sound like a barroque piece. It is possible to play this example just using one finger grom your right rand! Pay attention to the rhythmic part since we are working with really fast values, pay attention to make this the clearest you can and look for the best interpretation of it!
