Hey Everyone, how are you guys doing?
First of All, I would like to personally wish you a happy new year full of achievemnts and thank you
for staying with us this more year!
Now it is problably time to change the subjects of all old columnists , because we have been talking about the same subject
for one year and I think you guys problably in this time are familliar with our style and our ideas about the subjects mentioned
during this whole period. So This is problably my last column about alternate picking, before changing the subject, and this is something
that the columnists will do to bring to the viewers much more point of views for the same subjects.
To finish all this, I came up with two exercises using alternate picking over arpeggios, because I have noticed that people
are much more often playing arpeggios with sweep picking than alternate picking. So it is a nice tool, and definetely can help in great ideas for
your playing.
Example 1
The First one is in the key of C minor and I change the direction of the picking in each note getting a much more clearer sound.Try slowly and after you play
faster.
Example 2
This one can remind you Yngwie malmsteen style due to the minor harmonic scale, but if you play it using alternate picking you are going to have a mix of Steve morse style with Yngwie.
Obviously, if you use sweep picking you are going to play much more faster because this one of the skills of the sweep, but make sure that to work
on this kind of subject using alternate picking is also a new way of playing what we are used to do.
Thanks for you time and for the whole last year,
