Hey Everyone, how are you guys doing?

You've obviously noticed that the oldest columinst of the website've changed columns' subjects, and from now own I am going to talk about Two hand Technique.I hope you guys have enjoyed all our alternate picking lessons which now are going to be managed by my friend and excellent guitarist, Fred Dórnelas.

I will approach the next two hand technique columns using examples in real musical situations, thus this is going to give you real examples of playing two hands and obviously new ideas for your playing. But first of all, for this very first column I came up one "mechanic" exercise and other based on the E minor pentatonic to make everyone understand what two hand is about.

Example 1 and Example 2

These both exercises are really simple and the reason I am starting with them is because they are going to put all your four fingers of the right hand in practice. So, practice these exercise the most you can to not get some problems in the future exercises. Do not take your fingers you've already played off when you are playing the sequences, keep one finger a fret position.

Example 3

This exercise is based on E minor pentatonic, you can use it over minor triads as well as 7th chords.Notice the different sonority of the penatonic scale when you make something really usual to become in something totally unexpected.
