Mixed Technique

Hey guys!It is a very plesure that I start my first column in this eletronic magazine that takes for everybody the guitar´s world.

My main objective is to show new forms to extracting different sounds through the mixed technique and  different articulations, aplicated in a determinated musical phrase.

The subject of this column in this month is: Minor Pentatonic (Root b3 4 5 b7).
Many guitar players use to play in a traditional way, that is based on a pattern of two notes per string.
I will propose a different way. We will play the pentatonic based on a pattern 1x3 (play one note in a string and three notes on the next string). For executing the new form, we will use the sweep picking technique that consists in keep the picking´s direction in the change of string. Check the 5 shapes of "A" minor pentatonic in a 1x3 pattern.

Inside of this new propose, I elaboreted a small phrase that is present in a composition called "Searching For Dreams", from Mindborn. This phrase was elaboreted through of 5th shape from "A" minor pentatonic and mix the follows techniques: Sweep Picking, Leggato and Tapping with two fingers (make the tapping with 2 and 4 fingers from right hand, for the right-handed).
