Viagem - Solo

This month’s solo is taken from the song “Viagem”, from my first solo álbum. It is built over the E minor and C# minor chords, played by bass and drums only. Sometimes their rhythmic playing may sound a bit like Brazilian musical style called “baião”.

Some parts of this solo were improvised. Besides the Em and C#m scales, I’ve also used also the E harmonic minor and whole-tone scales.

In the end, over the B7 chord, there is a lick that uses the B spanish Phrygian scale.
