Rhythmic Variety

Hello everyone.
First of all, happy new year to everyone.

This month I’ll talk about rhythmic variations. That, in my opinion, is extremely important to built a nice phrasing.

 

Ex 01: First we’ll start with a simple 16th note pattern.

Ex 02: Now, we play the same Idea with triplets. a

Ex 03a: We can use anacrusis. That, in this case we’ve got 3 options of it. One note anacrusis.

Ex 03b: Two notes anacruses.

Ex 03c: Three notes anacrusis.

Ex 04a: Using rests would be very interesting too. a

Ex 05: Finally playing a 5 notes patern in 16th notes.

After practice this rhythmic variations you can apply it in any phrasing idea.
