This month I’ve prepared an Em lick with a Bluesy sound, using 4 note arpeggios and a string skipping pattern. The lick begins with an up run using the Em/(b5) arpeggio, here the flat fifth gives the blue note sound. Now we have a descendant pattern using tapping and string skipping. Notice that the notes used in the pattern are the same notes as in the previous arpeggio, adding the 9th (F#). From here we have a slide with your index finger to the 10th fret, starting another arpeggio run, this time playing the Gm6 arpeggio. Use a tapping to get the last note on the first string. The lick ends with a half tone bend on the 3rd string using your pinky, followed by a tapping on the same string, holding the bend.
