G-Lab  WOWEE- WAH – WW – 1

What are the most important things when you’re looking for a new pedal!? Good tone ,  nice/durable design and for sure a price you can afford. If you agree with me, I have to tell you that your search is now over.

The WOWEE – WAH – WW – 1 is a pedal built by a polish company named G-Lab (Guitar Laboratory - www.glab.com.pl) which has developed high quality guitar acessories /devices and also has blown away many guitar players all over the world.

The first thing you’ll notice when you get your product is the high quality design as well as a full user manual featuring all the information you need to know. Don’t worry if you are not a big fan of reading manuals, because the interface is pretty simple and there’s also a sticker with some “quick start” tips.

Talking about its functional parts, the pedal works basicly in two ways: SWITCH and TOUCH position which can be selected easily on the ON/OFF MODE switch. If you choose the first option your pedal is going to work as a classical model and you’ll have to use the switch located in the front of the pedal to control it, if you choose the second one your pedal is going to be activated just by placing the foot on it which is really useful for a live situation (Even in dark stages, because there are two lights located in the front of the pedal which change its colors when the pedal is activated).

You can be wondering now: “Ok, it’s pretty easy to activate it, but does it interfere on my guitar signal!?” It’s the best part, because the system is totally True by pass and just by removing your foot from the pedal you’ll get your original tone back with no gain loss. Even thus you can use the Volume Switch to increases your guitar signal by 3,5 DB.
Could it be any easier!?

To supply it , you will need a 9 V DC regulated adapter (10 mA comsumption) or a 9V battery (included on the product). Make sure to plug your Mono jack to IN connector and if you are using the battery , set the battery switch in On position.

When it comes about tone the options seem to be unlimited. The device features three switches (BASS , DEEP AND Q FACTOR) which  you can “mix” to create your own tone. You can also check the manual and the company website suggest for some “standard” examples, check the possibilites below (taken from the company’s website):

Low intensity of the wah-wah effect on low part of the regulation band, reducing choking of the gain by low frequencies of regulation.

Low intensity of the wah-wah effect assuring its legibility, VOL=HI position – boosts the signal for more overdrive.

High intensity of the wah-wah effect on middle and low part of the regulation band, VOL=HI position – boosts the signal for more overdrive.

BASS  Switch, LOW – bass attenuation like in a classic wah-wah, HIGH – without bass attenuation.

DEEP  Switch changing the effect intensity, HIGH position – decreases the signal level of the frequencies behind the resonance what intensifies the wah-wah effect, a side effect is attenuation of the signal .

Q FACTOR  Quality factor of the resonance circuit switch, HIGH position - increases resonance signal level (especially of low part of the regulation band in high pedal positions) what intensifies the wah-wah effect.
