SG strings are made in Brazil and distributed by Musical Izzo. For the test I have used caliber .010 strings with the following disposition:
1st.E .010; 2nd.B 0.13; 3rd. G .017; 4th. D .026; 5th. A .036; 6th. E .046.
Wrapped in a anti-corrosive jacket, the brand offers pledge to the consumer, guaranteeing that strings will be just in perfect condition, not depending on the fabrication date. It comes together with the strings both a pick and an E (1st.) string. Covered strings hold nickel coverage and the uncovered ones are made of tin steel. You will find more information about it written on the strings package.
For the equipment, I have played with a Kraft eletric guitar, Sydney Carvalho model – neck position: Seymor Duncan Hot Rails (SHR-1) Model; Bridge position : Seymor Duncan 59 humbucker (SH-1N) Model – plugged in a Fender Stage 160 amplifier. For overdrived sounds, besides the drive and effects proper of the amplifier, it has also been used a Boss GT-5 Multi FX.
After tunning up the instrument, strings magnitude was considerably remarckable, specially with 6th., 5th, and 4th. strings. In a few minutes I was able to listen to a stable tuning, even using the tremolo and playing some funky grooves.
For the sound of eletric guitar, what most called my attention was sound diversity achieved only by changing pick attack, besides the soft sound while using the fingers to play either bossa nova and jazz grooves.
During the solos, with overdrived sound, strings could maintain a clear sound. With power chords and riffs, the feedback was also satisfactory sustaining high note definition, without making sounds confused.
After 10 days of using, strings were able to conserve their original characteristics, having no losses at all in any query in comparison with imported brands.
